It’s with heavy heart that I have to announce that The Juanners Report is coming to an end. I originally planned for this blog to be my main MLS “fixation” until I landed my current analyst role that has paid really well. I thought that I could write continuously about the league whilst at the same time being a consultant but after about hours of spending time on the computer doing ‘this’ as work, it’s hard to then log on and then talk about it at length again. So, I’m calling it at just a little bit halfway past the halfway mark. With so much of my life already being about MLS, it’s quite hard to really give more of it to this blog. Not only would the content feel forced but I too would feel overworked and feel like I can’t escape it. The one thing that has been exceptional for me has been the stats. But even that has been difficult to update on a consistent week to week basis. In short, life has gotten in the way. When I first set out to start this Substack it was to work on MLS while working my part time job. This was originally supposed to be my escape. Now, with the job I have now covering MLS, this feels like extra work after an already grueling period of time studying projected lineups, weather, tactics, stats, styles, injuries etc. To now then look at odds and monitor line changes: my head would explode. So, I’m closing this up. To all the premium members I am sorry to let you down. Thank you for believing in me and my work. I still believe wholeheartedly in the data tools I’ve made and have no issues, upon request, parting with the original files for own personal use. I paid good money for those tools and think it’s great value, especially with how easy it is to use.

Juan, I appreciate the value I got out of the Report this year, but that's nothing compared to the value that I'm sure this project has provided to your life. I don't feel let down and hope you don't feel that either - it definitely sucks to say goodbye to a passion project, but even its short life sounds like a very important step to your career. Your work has helped inspire me to make more stuff for the love of the game too. I'm sure that one day you'll be past any disappointment of "ending" this and be able to fully see it as a vital pivot point for your life.
All that being said, definitely wouldn't mind seeing you post the occasional lines you like on twitter (if you're allowed, lol). All the best my friend!
